Programme of concerts to be held in
Holy Trinity Church, Salcombe.
Following the highly successful fund raising concerts by The Carrivicks (25th February) and Panache (12th March), new pre Festival concerts are booked as follows.
The Alvington Singers with Orchestra
Wednesday 8th June @ 7.30pm
As their main work, The Alvington Singers will perform Mozart’s Requiem with soloists Cindy Gloyn (Soprano), Pollyanna Magne (Alto), Tony Gregg (Tenor) and David Taylor (Bass). Two other pieces by Mozart will also be performed; Laudate Dominium and Ave Verum, as well as Rachmaninov’s Ave Maria with a setting of George Herbert’s poem, Love Bade Me Welcome which will be performed by Music Director, Alastair Durden.
The Alvington Singers are popular visitors to the Festival, and we greatly look forward to their pre – weekend concert.

The Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra
Friday 10th June @ 8.00pm
We are pleased to welcome back to our Festival by popular demand, the Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra under the direction of their Musical Director, Brian Moore.
A group of over 50 young musicians of school age from all over the County who have achieved remarkable levels of musicianship in performing the music of the big band era of the ‘30’s, ‘40’and ‘50’s. with everything from Goodman to Kenton.
Indeed their reputation led to an invitation to perform at the world renowned Montreux Festival in 2010.This concert has been fully booked for the last 2 years.
The Kingsmen
Saturday 11th June
To celebrate their 25th anniversary the Kingsmen will be giving a special performance at the Festival this year. This very popular and nationally very successful local close harmony choir never fails to get feet tapping and even some singing along too!
Full details of timing etc. will be published closer to the time of the concerts.
Salcombe Festival Committee tries wherever possible to encourage local musicians to perform at the Festival.
The Sherborne Swing Band
Saturday 28th May @ 8.00pm
A wonderful new visitor to our project; this band has performed extensively around the United Kingdom and overseas, having recently played in St Lucia. Their programme, which includes vocal arrangements, takes in the works of Glenn Miller, Bill Basie, Duke Ellington and Frank Sinatre.
We look forward to welcoming the band with their Director of Music, James Henderson.
