THE CARRIVICK SISTERS

FRIDAY 25TH FEBRUARY – 8.00PM – TICKETS £8. 00

(Enquiries 01548 843329)

(Proceeds will be ‘split between the Festival and the Musicians Benevolent Fund)

‘The Carrivicks’ played the Salcombe Festival in their formative years, since then they have become a truly major force on the bluegrass scene, with music strongly folk influenced; including many original songs inspired by our local landscape and stories. They have performed in Canada and mainland Europe; played the Glastonbury Festival, been finalists in the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2010 and with three CDs on release; we are truly grateful to the sisters for returning to the Festival.

PANACHE +

ROBIN BRETT

SATURDAY 12TH MARCH – 8.00PM – TICKETS £5.00

(Enquiries 01548 843329)

We are delighted Robin Brett will perform for the Festival again, and also welcome pianist Emma Seal who will play solo and duet works with him.

As for Panache, well one person will be very familiar to the audience, and that is Roy Hann of ‘Kingsmen’ fame. Having established this hugely popular and successful male Barbershop Chorus, he decided (January 2009) to complement this venture with a ladies ensemble; with the result Panache now perform frequently in the local area, and with over 45 singers, they have already raised over £1000 for local and national charities.

Further details on both programmes will be announced shortly and posted on the festival website.

On behalf of The Salcombe Festival committee, I welcome experienced and new ‘festival goers’ to the 2010 project, and wish everyone a Happy New Year!

THE SALCOMBE FESTIVAL SEEKS SPONSORS FOR 2011

Successive festivals begin soon after closure of 'the last', as the team set about raising funds through any number of projects.

The raffle has always been a traditional source, but we feel this has perhaps run it's course for us, as we compete with so many other causes plying the same 'trade'.

The Party at the Pool was close to the spirit of the festival and was a wonderful joint effort between us and the local Salcombe Swimming Pool committee to boost resources, we had a hugely successful Auction of Promises and now plan for a Quiz Night and Race Night.

All suggestions for projects are very welcome and will be hosted on the website. They are ideal opportunities for sponsorship, and we'll be delighted to discuss this with you.
